Doll, Fadness, Loof, Giesen land honors

WINONA, Minn. — Macki Fadness (Eau Claire, Wis.) and Willie Doll (Amherst, Wis.) have been no strangers to the awards stage. In fact, over the last four years, the duo has combined for 16 post-season awards—including seven First-Team All-Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference honors.

Yet, as good as they were in their first three seasons in a Saint Mary’s uniform, both Fadness and Doll were at their best in their final year as Cardinals.

And it did not go unnoticed, as the pair were named Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota’s Outstanding Male and Female Athletes during Friday’s Cardinal ‘M’ Club Sports Hall of Fame and Awards Ceremony.

Emily Loof (Colorado Springs, Colo.) and Brett Giesen (Cato, Wis.), meanwhile, were named Saint Mary’s Outstanding Male and Female Scholar Athletes.

Friday’s festivities also included the induction of three new members into the Saint Mary’s Sports Hall of Fame, as the Cardinal ‘M’ Club, in association with the Saint Mary’s Alumni Office, welcomed the Class of 2016—Chuck Richards ’71 (baseball), Julie (Macko) Lentz ’91 (women’s soccer), and Katie (Meissner) Oberfoell ’92 (women’s soccer).
