Students, faculty, staff and several alumni signed a beam from the Science and Learning Center on Friday, April 22.
The beam will be the last one to be installed in the building. Music was playing and the sun was shining as dozens of people scrawled their signatures with Sharpies. Participants also signed a photo that will be displayed inside the building and received pens that said “I Signed The Beam” to commemorate the day.

“It’s a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity because they only build the structure of the building once,” said sophomore Lexi Loesel. “You get to make your mark on it and you’re part of that building forever.”
The new center is on track to be completed in the summer of 2017 and open for classes that fall.
