The Saint Mary’s volleyball team was back on home court on Oct. 14 after their fall break trip to Chicago as they took on the Auggies from Augsburg College. The Cardinals dropped the first set to the visiting team but came storming back to take the next three and send the Auggies packing with a match score of 3-1.

Sporting flashes of pink apparel to support breast cancer awareness, the Cardinals battled with the Auggies in a gritty, back-and-forth match. Each team grappled to take the lead in all four sets. However, the Cardinals’ superior setting and several timely digs and spikes from players in the fourth set, as well as strong serving led by junior Morgan Thomas, brought the Cardinals out on top. It was an exciting and decisive win for the Cardinals’ last regular-season home match.

The Cardinals are back in action Friday, Oct. 23, as they head to Bethel University to take on the Royals.
